For a modern haunted house slasher, it really does tick all the boxes. Creepy villains, a foreboding atmosphere, (some) characters who actually make the right decisions, excellent kills, genuine OMG moments... Haunt is surely one of the great modern slashers - certainly Halloweeny slashers.
Haunt is a movie that I recommend to my friends when they want to see a good horror movie. Haunt took its time unraveling, which was a good thing and done well.
