I thought Bird Box was pretty decent, but it didn't particularly terrify me in the way some of the best horrors do. I think its general consensus suffered from the fact it came out at the same time as the (imo) far superior A Quiet Place!
Okay first, I want to say how good this movie is. The characters and their development, as well as that of the plot was absolutely phenomenal. The acting, cinematography and technical things were are well executed and immersive. This movie did horror right imo.
Bird Box never quite reaches its intriguing potential, but strong acting and an effectively chilly mood offer intermittently creepy compensation. Read Critics Reviews
