Awake was at least a very interesting take on procedurals and I really enjoyed it. I didn't mind it in the beginning when it was more procedural, but will admit that once it started to focus more and more on Michael trying to figure out the cover up of his car crash it got really really good.
Awake really belonged to a premium channel like HBO where people could binge watched and play on demand. This is probably why they had to can the show, since the ratings was nowhere near what they expected from that timeslot.
