    • Stop catastrophizing the situation. It’s hard to think rationally when you’re mind is focused on all the ways you think you have ruined your life. But you have to ask yourself this: are things really that bad?
    • Realize that no ties = freedom to change. One of the things that people panic about the most when they feel that they’ve ‘ruined’ their life is all the changes they’re about to face.
    • Let go of prior expectations you had for the future. If you’ve made more than your fair share of poor decisions in life and this has led to some rather unwelcome circumstances, you might feel a sense of loss over the expectations you used to have for your future.
    • Stop Suppressing Your Emotions. When life gets messy, anxiety tends to ramp up. Your impulse is to shut down that feeling, but shutting down doesn't eliminate the anxiety — it just buries it.
    • Make a To-Do List. It feels overwhelming to have so many unfinished tasks in front of you; however, they are far more challenging to tackle just swimming around your head.
    • Let Your Schedule Suit You. Some people need routine. A consistent and planned schedule allows them to maintain their sense of order and lessen their anxiety.
    • Let Go Of Shame. Every person experiences disaster on some level. The circumstances might be outside of your control, or maybe the result of a few mistakes.

    • Perfectionism. Have you ever heard the saying, “Perfect is the enemy of good”? What does that mean exactly? Well, perfection is an unattainable state. There’s no such thing as perfect, so it’s an intangible goal that is always out of reach.
    • Negative self-talk. There is one person in the world with whom you will spend the most time. Yourself! It doesn’t matter who else you have in your life, who comes and goes, or what relationships you build or tear down, there will always be one consistent person in every second and every moment of your life.
    • Lack of self-awareness. A lack of self-awareness can make you think that you can’t do anything right and leave you feeling like a loser. The reason for this is negative self-bias.
    • Comparison with others. “Comparison is the thief of joy.” – Theodore Roosevelt. Do you feel inadequate when you compare yourself to others? Probably. How much time do you spend comparing yourself to people who are doing better than you?
