A TV movie that gives an end to short lived TV series. The actors are good but the story is powerful even today. Lilly Taylor returns to her hometown for the first time in thirty years, where she remembers the dramatic events that led to her leaving, and learns what became of the Bedford family she used to work for.
As a wrap up to a really interesting television series from the early 1990’s ‘I’ll Fly Away: Then and Now’ does the bare minimum. Which is really what most tv movies used to bookend canceled tv series do. It retells the Emmett Till story, but in a way that makes it’s ersatz Till guilty of a transgression the real Till has been exonerated for, flirting with a white woman. I was eleven ...
