Howland Township is one of the twenty-four townships of Trumbull County, Ohio, United States. Along with Liberty Township , it is one of two urban townships in Trumbull County. The 2020 census found 19,042 people in the township.

A History of Our Township. In January 1798, Joseph Howland - a descendant of John Howland who came to America aboard the Mayflower in 1620 - bought a Northwest Territory tract of land from the Connecticut Land Company in the Western Reserve which became Howland of Trumbull County.
