In mid-April, head to Suwa to see blossoms surrounding Lake Suwa, Takashima Castle Park, and many of the temples’ grounds. Cycling through the mountains during the daytime is also a sure way to spot single trees or groves in bloom.
Lake Suwa is a 10 mins walk from the JR station. It is essentially an onsen town. We took a walk by the Lake and spotted the Lake Suwa-ko Geyser Center where you can enjoy the sight of a dynamic geyser and the "Nanatsu-gama," or the spot where seven hot springs gush.
