How to Cheat in the Leaving Certificate is a 1997 independent Irish film directed by Graham Jones, in which six teenagers devise a plan to cheat in their Leaving Certificate final school examinations. The film was shot in black and white on Super 16mm and was later blown up to 35mm for theatrical distribution.
In fairness this ads to the film's mystique, leaving more questions than answers for the viewer. Cameos come from film financer Chris De Burgh, Johnny Murphy of 'The Commitments' fame, among other local stars of day, 'How To Cheat..' requires at least one viewing per year as an unashamed pleasure.
Delightfully fun little film that I've been meaning to watch for ages. I do also have a soft spot for anything that is just extremely specifically Irish. In particular I can't see that much of the humour would translate internationally.
