Central Hollywood, with its sidewalks bustling with tourists and lined with souvenir shops, may not always offer the most pleasant walking experience, but it’s certainly one of the more walkable Los Angeles neighborhoods.

- The Arts District and Little Tokyo. Downtown LA‘s famous and trendy Arts District, and the adjacent neighborhood of Little Tokyo, make for a stellar day of exploring by foot.
- Downtown L.A. is one of the more connected areas via the Metro, thanks to a handful of stations. You can jump off at 7th and Metro or Pershing Square to start your walking tour.
- Chinatown and Olivera Street. Los Angeles’ Chinatown, first located by Union Station and then relocated in 1938, also has its own stop along the Gold Line, though it is within a 15-minute walk of Little Tokyo if you’re heading from that direction.
- Los Feliz. Los Feliz is a small-but-trendy, easily walkable neighborhood between Silver Lake and Hollywood. Here, between the shady sidewalks of Vermont Avenue and Hillhurst Avenue, you can make stops at vintage stores, old-school (and functioning) movie theaters, the post office, bars, and restaurants — including the Swingers-famous Dresden on Vermont.
- Santa Monica. Santa Monica is one of the most walkable neighborhoods in LA. This seaside city features a nice mix of historic and storied establishments like the iconic but ostensibly haunted hotel, The Georgian, alongside a collection of newer, trendy destinations, all made for exploring on foot.
- Pasadena. Visitors can take the Metro L (Gold) Line to Pasadena and explore a range of attractions on foot. Old Pasadena is a particularly walkable district with a storied past.
- Venice Beach. Venice Beach dates all the way back to the early 1900s, originally developed and designed by the eccentric millionaire Abbot Kinney as a Los Angeles beach destination resort, paying homage to its Italian theme with canals and pedestrian footbridges to explore.
- Culver City. The highly walkable enclave of Culver City has quickly become a creative capitals with recent arrivals of media studios like Apple TV, Amazon Studios, and HBO.
