Having just moved to Chicago last year, Shameless was one of the shows I started binge-watching during COVID. It was a fun challenge, every outdoor scene I would find the location on Google Streetview. I'm only up to season 7 now. But at least 90% of the outdoor scenes are findable in Chicago.
Whenever I talk about sundown towns, I always feel like I have to mention my favorite one, a suburb of Chicago called Brookfield, Illinois. Back in the 60’s, there was a big uproar because a house sold to a black family. A meeting was held to plan a protest of this new black family.
