The Hippopotamus is a large, dark pink mammal with an opening mouth filled with tusks.
Hippopotamuses will attack the player if they go within 3 blocks of them or 5 blocks of their calves. They attack in a similar fashion to Ravagers by charging the player with their tusks. Hippopotamuses can often be seen in small herds with one or two calves following behind them.
Hippos spawn in groups of 3-4 above grass blocks at a light level of 9 or more in savanna biomes near or in sources of water. Spawn biomes can be edited with a data pack via adding or removing biomes from tags/worldgen/has_hippo.json in Naturalist’s data files.
You can tame a weaned hippo with sea grass. You can ride the Hippo and it also can attack mobs. However when riding the Hippo it has a fickle nature. Meaning it sometimes will shake off the player and they won’t be hostile after shaking them off. It is just a rare chance. Hippos are neutral to other Hippos but rarely they will attack each other.
Shearing a sheep yields 1-3 blocks of wool instead of the usual 1 block you obtain from killing. This process can also be automated with dispensers. However, sheep must eat grass from grass block in order to regrow
