    Train is the best way to go around the massive Lake Suwa. The stations that you’ll most likely use during your Lake Suwa trip are : Kami-Suwa Station, Shimo-Suwa Station, JR Chino Station, and Okaya Station. Fare starts from ¥190 (₱89- $1.72 – SGD 2.35 – MYR 7 ) – ¥200 (₱ 94 – $1.8 – SGD 2.48 – MYR 8 ), but if you have a JR Rail Pass, most of them are covered (the JR Lines and Limited Express Azusa).

  3. You can take an easy walk along the shoreline (16km all around), a ride on one of the tourist boats (we tried the amphibious Duck Boat), or just sit under the trees and admire the view. There are many nice hotels and fyokans right on the edge of the lake and lots of good restaurants too.
