I wish I stayed longer here, because I really like the ambiance of this destination and the breeze touching my face while enjoying the scenic view of the lake.

- SUWA UNAGI. Lake Suwa is not just a place for a leisurely walk, this tourist destination in Suwa is also a perfect place for a food trip since the lake is sprinkled with a variety of restaurants serving soba noodles, ramen, unagi, etc.
You can take an easy walk along the shoreline (16km all around), a ride on one of the tourist boats (we tried the amphibious Duck Boat), or just sit under the trees and admire the view. There are many nice hotels and fyokans right on the edge of the lake and lots of good restaurants too.

Lake Suwa occupies the center of the Suwa region and there is plenty to do along its shores. A cycling and jogging path runs 16 kilometers around the lake, and bike rentals are available outside Suwa area stations and lakeside near Hotel Beniya.

It is very easy to get to by train on the Chuo Line from Tokyo since there aren’t any transfers required. The lake is large and takes about 30 min to drive around by car.
