TBH, when the Groups culled data and pivoted to full listserv - as in bulk mail only - I knew it was the end. Had three groups from 2000 - 2002 and thousands of subscribers. The Groups were deliberately killed by Yahoo about a decade ago.
As of 2019-10-16 the directory lists 5619351 groups. 2752112 of them have been discovered. 1483853 (54%) have public message archives with an estimated number of 2.1 billion messages (1389 messages per group on average so far). 1.8 billion messages (86%) have been archived as of 2018-10-28.
If you remember the administrator of the yahoogroup, try contacting them. They may have archived it before the groups were closed. The problem is that the groups are tied to an individual, so if they deleted their yahoo account, the groups vanished, too.
