The best strategy I had during the exam that allowed me to do well was simply knowing why certain questions had to be wrong. Some questions it was easy to know what the right answer was, but when it came to ones that had more moving parts, an understanding of why 2 out of the 4 questions couldn't be picked gives you a 50% chance vs a 25%.

The pre-SIE Series 7 was a 6 hour, 250 multiple-choice question exam that covered general financial knowledge as well as product-specific knowledge.
