In a theater, I watch about 5-10 new movies a year. However, I tend to watch more movies that I’ve seen before in the theater - I’m more likely to watch a limited run of an older movie than a new release (like the 70-mm print of 2001 that was out last year).

Jun 12, 2003 · Anyway, as of yesterday, 8th Nov, I've watched 212 movies this year. That's 312 days in the year used. This wasn't counting watching just half a film while waiting to go out. This was only entire movies. There have been a few repeats but not many although a large number of the movies I've seen in previous years.

I'll probably reach 300 films this year (which isn't that much compared to some standards). The payoff is that I spend less time living my own life, and more time living through the movies. The common number among filmbuffs is between 100-200 a year, I think, which is totally cool.
Personally, I have been watching at least a movie per week at the theater for the last 3-4 years, so it makes around 50-60 per year. I don't know if this poll had been already posted before on this or other subs.

Oct 22, 2020 · There’s a reason why 99% of movies released in theatres today are high-concept action and superhero thrill rides, and it's the same reason why Oscar-bait dramas are released in the back end of the year. It all comes down to when the movie would be most successful and stay in theatres the longest.
