At the Ecole d’Humanité, eight to 12 students reside in simple mountain chalets led by two or three “Family Heads.” In these co-ed, multi-age, and multilingual homes, each student lives with a roommate in rooms that have a twin bed, a workspace, closets, and storage space.

Ecole d’Humanité is one of the leading proponents of a progressive, holistic approach to schooling, which puts creativity, critical thinking, and self-determination at the centre of its philosophy.
Our 120 students live in small “families,” of 8-10 students, each headed by two or three teachers. The Ecole strives to realize an environmentally responsible lifestyle. By limiting material and electronic consumerism we create a space where students can engage directly and honestly with other people and with the natural world.
