The university took its final name in 1992 as Yıldız Technical University. The Faculty of Engineering was divided into four faculties and restructured as: Faculty of Electrical-Electronics, Faculty of Construction, Faculty of Mechanical and Chemical-Metallurgy, and Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.
Yıldız Technical University was established in 1911 in Turkey in the European city of Istanbul, and it is one of the largest universities in Turkey, as it includes two campuses, one of which is located in the Besiktas area, and the other is located in the Esenler Davutpasa area in the European center of Istanbul.
Today, YTU has eleven Faculties most of which are related to engineering, two Graduate Schools, three Vocational Schools, one School of Foreign Languages and more than 34,000 students, offering a range of programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels, ranging from the science and engineering disciplines to arts and humanities.
