This is a list of Atlantic Coast Conference men's basketball regular season champions. The ACC does not officially recognize a regular season champion and does not award a regular season champion trophy. [1] The conference's automatic NCAA berth is reserved for the ACC Tournament winner.
The 2021 ACC Championship Game featured the Pittsburgh Panthers, champions of the Coastal Division, and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, champions of the Atlantic Division. It was only the second all-time meeting between the teams, with Pittsburgh winning the only previous meeting, in 2018, by a score of 34–13. [3]
The Panthers were led by third-year head coach Jeff Capel and played their home games at the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Panthers finished the season 10–12, 6–10 in ACC play, to finish in twelfth place. They lost to Miami in the first round of the ACC tournament.
