Jan 18, 2024 · How long do inspections/rebuilds usually take, ship out until returned? Its a training aircraft, so every day out of commission loses money. So having new magnetos on hand, and replacing them at whatever interval may be the better option, cheaper. IDK.

Jun 3, 2015 · You have Slick 4371 (left) and 4370 (right) magnetos. They have a 500 hour "inspection" recommendation. It is just shy of an overhaul. I had mine (4373 and 4370 for an O-320-D2A) inspected at 500 hours by QAA of Tulsa Oklahoma back in 2013. One magento arrived incorrectly internally timed and would not allow the engine to start.
