Thomas "Tom" Morrow was a man who served as NCIS Director from an unknown year up until his resignation from NCIS which occurred during the NCIS Season 3 premiere episode, Kill Ari Part 1 (episode) in the aftermath of the murder of NCIS Special Agent Caitlin Todd at the hands of Ari Haswari.
Following Morrow's resignation from NCIS, he left the agency to become Deputy Director at the Department of Homeland Security and was replaced by Jennifer Shepard who served as NCIS Director for nearly three years up until her murder in May 2008 with her position being taken over by Leon Vance.
Despite having on moved from NCIS, Morrow, in recent years became involved in various investigations with NCIS that also brought him back into contact with his former NCIS colleagues, particularly NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs.
In April 2016, Morrow's life came to an end when during his time in his office at his home, he was shot in the head by a lone sniper who was later revealed to be rogue CIA agent Trent Kort.
