- The Christian's hope is grounded in the belief that there is more to life than what we can wish for in this world. The Christian hope is based on the resurrection of Jesus Christ and in God's promise to resurrect all who believe in Jesus (1 Corinthians 15:19–23). It is the hope of forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:13–14).

Oct 11, 2023 · Hope (Bible) – A biblical definition of hope takes it one step further. Hope is an expectation with certainty that God will do what he has said. I hope you can see the difference. One is a wish or desire, the other is a certainty or guarantee. Let me use a verse from Scripture to illustrate the point.
These life-changing Bible verses offer profound comfort and spiritual strength in times of suffering by emphasizing the transformative power of God’s Word. Yet for many people worldwide without access to the Bible in a language that speaks to their heart, this hope is out of reach.
But biblical hope is never based on what is possible with man. Biblical hope looks away from man to the promise of God. And when it does, it becomes the “full assurance of hope” — the expectation of great things from God.
Mar 7, 2008 · How do we build our hope in God? Hope is a portion or part of faith. Faith and hope, in my mind, are overlapping realities: hope is faith in the future tense. So most of faith is hope. The Bible says, "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17). This implies that hope, like faith, is also strengthened by the word of God.
Jul 13, 2023 · Hope produces joy and peace in believers through the power of the Spirit (Romans 12:12; 15:13). Paul attributes his apostolic calling to the hope of eternal glory (Titus 1:1-2). Hope in the return of Christ is the basis for believers to purify themselves in this life (Titus 2:11-14, 1 John 3:3).
Mar 24, 2022 · To hope in the Bible is to firmly place your trust in what God says. It’s not an, “oh, I hope so,” but rather, “I hope because he said so.” The New Testament outlines specifics of God’s promises that we place our hope in: salvation, resurrection, and the redemption of our bodies.
The Christian hope is based on the resurrection of Jesus Christ and in God's promise to resurrect all who believe in Jesus (1 Corinthians 15:19–23). It is the hope of forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:13–14). It is the hope of a heavenly home (Hebrews 11:16).
