Leucojum aestivum is a lovely snowflake, bearing dark green leaves and wide white flowers with green markings. Grow Leucojum aestivum in moist soil in sun to partial shade. Allow to self seed naturally and let the foliage die down full after flowering.

Leucojum, or Giant Snowflakes, make their grand debut in the spring with multiple nodding, snow-white, bell-shaped blooms festooned with green accents dangling from each long stem. The blizzarding blossoms are enhanced by mounds of dark green, grassy foliage and look fabulous when combined with late-season Tulips.

Nov 26, 2023 · It is best to grow Summer Snowflake and other Leucojum members from bulbs outdoors. The bulbs should be burried at a depth of 8 to 10 cm (3 to 4 inches) at the end of autumn. Leucojum can grow in either a sunny or partly shaded area of the garden, and like a dampish woodland like soil.
Grow Leucojum in any moist, humus-rich but well-drained soil. Small species such as Leucojum autumnale can be planted in a rock garden or bulb frame. Large species such as Leucojum aestivum are excellent in a border or near water or naturalized in grass or a meadow.
