In the First Age the god Guthix discovered the world of Gielinor. He would then travel to Tarddiad to invite Seren to this newly discovered world, one that Guthix had deemed perfect, and together they would terraform the planet and bring many races through the World Gateto Gielinor.

Gielinor (/ˈɡɪ.lə.nɔːr/ GILL-in-or), nicknamed RuneScape by the humans inhabiting it, is the world in which most of RuneScape takes place. It is the final creation of the Elder Gods and was later discovered by the god Guthix in the First Age when he was exploring realms with The Blade.
The Gielinor Guide (formerly RuneScape Guide) is the first non-player character (NPC) that players meet in the game. He is found in his house on Tutorial Island. He gives a brief but informative chat about the game. At this NPC, a player is required to choose their character's looks. These include: Male / Female
The steps to unlock these components are: Gain 2,500 Serenist reputation at the Heart of Gielinor (God Wars Dungeon 2). Kill Vindicta, Gregorovic or The Twin Furies to obtain seals and hand them in to the Helwyr's Chosen. It would take 500 boss kills to obtain the required reputation.
