Fusion (Japanese: 合成, Gōsei) is a process that combines two Yo-kai, two items, or an item and a Yo-kai, to create a piece of equipment/stronger and evolved Yo-kai for the player to use.

Unlike the video games, where the fusion is performed as some sort of ritual, it's rather seen with Yo-kai colliding with one another. An example of this is with Jibanyan and Roughraff, whom bumped into each other during a fight, causing them to be fused into Baddinyan in Here Comes Roughraff.
Something that isn't possible in the video games is separation of the fused Yo-kai, with Baddinyan and Thornyan being the two exceptions in a cutscene from Yo-kai Watch 2. It can happen by a sharp material that "cuts" the Yo-kai into two, such as the blade Shogunyan uses in Shogunyan Wants To Cut Hard Things or if a Yo-kai wants to defuse by pulling themselves apart in EP091.

You can only use the generated Yo-Kai once you can use Eyepo. You can evolve the Yo-Kai chosen by the machine and vice versa but for fusion you can only use it if it is required to get a generated Yo-Kai or if a generated Yo-Kai needs an item or auto befriend to fuse.
