Why you are asked to enter your email login information when trying to reset your Facebook password
If you requested a new password but didn't receive your password reset email: Check the spam or junk mail folder in your email accounts linked to your Facebook account. Try to reset your password again.
If you can access your account email or phone, learn how to reset your password. If you suspect your account was hacked, visit facebook.com/hacked on a device you’ve used to log into Facebook before.
If you're logged in but have forgotten your password, follow the steps under Change your password, then tap Forgotten password? and follow the steps to reset it. Bear in mind that you'll need access to the email associated with your account.
