David H. Gutmann, MD, PhD. David Gutmann received his undergraduate, graduate (PhD) and medical (MD) degrees from the University of Michigan, where he trained in immunogenetics in the laboratory of Dr. John Niederhuber.
David Hillel Gutmann is an American neurologist-neuroscientist. He teaches at Washington University in St. Louis, where he is the Donald O. Schnuck Family Professor, and Director of the Washington University Neurofibromatosis Center.
For the past 25 years, the Gutmann laboratory has focused on discovering the genomic, genetic, cellular and molecular determinants that cause nervous system dysfunction in people with NF1 using a combination of novel genetically engineered mice and human induced pluripotent stem cells.
