The steps I used: run the genshin launcher. run the game. use task manager to locate the running file (.exe) for the game. import that file in steam using 'import non-steam game'. rename the imported game to the actual name (if you want to use configs from other people)
Add the Genshin Impact as 3rd-party game to Steam, name it correctly ("Genshin Impact"), run the game, minimize it's window, open config link in your browser and allow opening it in steam client. Then go back to the game and you should see the control configuration screen.

Xbox controllers can wirelessly connect to most modern Windows gaming PCs and the Xbox Wireless Controller adapter. To do so, use their included USB-C or microUSB cable to plug them in to your PC to pair them. Both Xbox One and PS4 controllers can connect to your PC via Bluetooth and by USB, but you may get latency with Bluetooth.
PS4 consoles only support PS4 controllers and a keyboard/mouse, not other brand controllers.
