Regular review applicants will be notified in mid-January regarding their admission. Early review applicants will be notified regarding their admission in early-November.
I find that the undergraduate Econ major is easy to get into. I believe you will only need the bare minimum of courses as a prereq ( link ): Econ 1, one of the micro of macro courses, stats, math, etc. As long as you meet the requirements, you'll probably get in. This isn't Haas.
Community colleges offer equivalent courses. The equivalent to either ECON 1 or 2 at community colleges is almost always two courses, microeconomics and macroeconomics. One course in math or statistics must be taken at UC Berkeley before applying to the Department.
