Yes, starting your PG&E service online is quick and easy. To start service, you'll need to do the following: Provide your name and a form of identification. You can use your Social Security or Tax ID number, or an alternate form of identification such as a driver's license or passport number.
If you require immediate service or service within 48 hours, call PG&E Customer Service at 1-800-468-4743. Sign into your online account to: Start or stop service; Update your mailing address or phone number; Requests are processed within one business day of receipt.
