Jan 23, 2023 · Opening in 1980, the St. Louis County Fire Academy began training and certifying firefighters for the 43 different fire departments and fire protection districts in St. Louis County. To work at any of these 43 fire service agencies, you must be certified through us.
The student must achieve a score of 70 percent on the exam in order to qualify for certification. Students must also successfully complete a practical skills exam. Fire Fighter I and II certification levels are internationally accredited by IFSAC and Pro Board.
