It’s ironic that Preston wished to turn the sheep into dog meat, as he did not require food as a robot. However, he was likely interested in the profits involved and not necessarily looking for meat to consume. Thinking that mutton dog food is a lot more valuable and profitable than wool.
Instead, he locks her and Shaun up with the intention of turning her, Shaun (and the other sheep) into dog meat. The two give chase on their motorbike, hoping to save Wendolene and clear Gromit's name.
Shaun exhibits human intelligence, creativity, and behaviour in the barnyard. His antics often lead to comic mayham, with the little sheep having to avoid the flock's sheepdog Bitzer and the farmer. Shaun is very good natured toward his fellow sheep.
In A Close Shave Wallace’s love for Wendolene Ramsbottom blinds him to the fact that her dog Preston is up to no good. Luckily, Gromit is on hand to save the day.
