Immortality is a 2022 interactive film video game developed by Sam Barlow and published by Half Mermaid Productions. It was released for Windows and Xbox Series X/S in August, while Android and iOS versions were released via Netflix in November 2022. A macOS version was released in April 2023. The true ending to Immortality is unlocked after finding ten specific Secret Clips that are hidden within its three-part story. In this guide, you will find a breakdown that explains everything you need to know about the true ending to Immortality, including what happened to Marissa (The One) at the end of the game.

If you uncover enough specific clips, a bonus clip shows Amy (The Other One) realizing what is wrong with Marissa (The One). Marissa is in a vegetative state, and the ending leaves room for player interpretation. We see The Other One douse The One in gasoline and set Marissa’s body on fire.
In the final moments of the game, The One breaks the fourth wall and speaks to the player saying, “I’m part of you now.” Immortality ends by implying you, the player, are now the host for The One. Something that was not fully explained was that there might be more parasitic beings that lived in the fictional world of Immortality.
The origins of The One and The Other One are not clearly explained. But it is implied that they are ancient entities or demons that have existed since the dawn of time. The One implied that it orchestrated the death of Jesus Christ. The mysterious entities have been taking the form of various people throughout history and it is unknown how they were created.
The ancient beings can express emotion and are drawn to different things. The One is drawn to art, sex, and violence and is drawn to humans. In comparison, The Other One does not share such affinity for humans and simply wants to survive. Both end up in conflict but are eventually reunited at the movie's end. It is unknown if The One is truly dead or if it can move on to another host in the future.
It is easy to miss some of the more important scenes in Immortality and players can trigger the ending of the game without fully exploring the secret clips.
