Grunkle Stan introduces Dipper, Mabel, and Soos to a bottomless pit, which he uses to dispose of things he no longer wants—namely, Mystery Shack suggestion cards. Mabel joins in by disposing of "creepy love letters from L'il Gideon" and a mysterious locked crate.
In the unaired pilot there is a scene of Grunkle Stan, Mabel, and Dipper falling down the pit. The design of Stan's fez is different from that of past episodes, having a dot put in the "fish's" mouth and the "fish" body changed from an arc to a circle missing a wedge (similar to Pac-Man).
