Dipper, Wendy, and Soos find Mabel. The group storms the tower, with Soos taking a bite out of one of the guards and Wendy defeating the other before breaking down the door. The group urges some partying animals to flee, then rush up the tower into a dark room.
Dipper attempts to persuade Mabel to leave her imaginary world, but Mabel instead shows she created a more supportive brother, Dippy Fresh, in replacement of Dipper and prefers to stay. When Wendy and Soos get distracted due to Mabel granting wishes for what they desire, Dipper leaves Mabel's tower and contemplates the situation.

It is the second in a series of journals, preceded by Journal #1 and followed by Journal #3, and contains information on various supernatural items and spells found in Gravity Falls. It is what Dipper makes of the ink blot. While he still didn't know Mabel did it by accident, he went on a three day research spree to find out what it could mean. This was his conclussion. After learning how the blot came to be, he dropped it. Doesn't explain about the signs in the blot, though.
Dipper realizes that Mabel was right next to where the Rift broke open and panics. Ford stops his nephew from running off, assuring him that they will save Mabel, but first need to stop Bill. Going to where Bill and his henchmaniacs have gathered, Ford prepares to destroy the triangle with a BFG.
