In an alternate 1602, Banner is a prisoner in the catacombs of King Thor's palace and known as a Man in the Iron Mask variant called the "Monster in the Iron Mask". He is freed by Captain Carter and transforms into the Hulk. He and Carter meet with Stark, and are joined by Rogers Hood, Barnes, and Lang.
The basic premise of Hulk is that when Bruce Banner becomes angry, harmed, or life is in danger, he turns into the Hulk. The ensuing battle outside the university proves futile for Ross's forces, and they retreat, though Blonsky, whose sanity is faltering, attacks and mocks the Hulk.
