The positive thing is that the quarry is nice and deep and the swimming area goes out to 15 feet deep. This is a bonus, as you can actually swim as opposed to just splashing around. The negative side is that this place represents the nanny state at its worst.

In the designated swimming area, depths reach a maximum of about 15 feet. In the scuba diving section, though, adventurous visitors can explore 80 feet below the surface.
Generally speaking, the quarry is around 40-50 feet deep with the viz running in the early spring 60+ feet near the middle of the Quarry. There are a number of good things to see underwater: Throne Mountain, Frito Truck, Tunnel, Plexiglass Diving Bell, sail boat, and other items placed there by divers, etc...

Usually, divers can see 30 to 40 feet while diving, but in the warmest months of the year, that drops down to 20 feet.
