How can British Gas Energy Trust help? Debt relief grants are available to both British Gas customers and customers of other energy suppliers. If you are struggling with domestic gas and electricity debts owed to British Gas or other suppliers, you can apply for a grant to clear that debt.

Through the British Gas Energy Trust, our support fund has helped more than 21,000 British Gas customers since 2021 with energy debt write off grants worth up to £2,000. It’s also funding extra money advice services across England, Scotland and Wales, building on the support already offered to all households.
