If you buy something at Costco and then it goes on sale within 30 days, you can take your receipt back and get refunded the difference. If for some reason the store won’t give you the price adjustment, just return the item and buy it at the cheaper price. At Costco, look for anything with a price tag that ends in 97 cents. That means it’s being sold below cost (i.e., you won’t find it cheaper elsewhere). Happen to see a price that ends in a 9? That usually indicates a manufacturer’s savings and will probably be marked down for a limited time.
Price tags with asterisks mean an item will not be reordered. If you see the asterisk and there are a lot of the items in stock, wait until the price gets marked down to a price ending in .97 and then buy. (You’ll find most of the 97s and asterisks in the seasonal section in the back third of the middle of the store.)

- Don't shop online. The upside of shopping at Costco.com is that you might get access to a wider range of products than what you're able to find at your local warehouse club store.
- Don't order two-day delivery if you're not buying $75 worth of products. Costco offers a range of grocery items for two-day delivery. These grocery items don't tend to be as marked-up as the fresh items you can order for same-day delivery, so you may be tempted to buy certain items you can't find at your local warehouse club store.
- Sign up for the Executive membership. An Executive membership at Costco costs $120 a year, while a basic membership costs $60. As such, you may be thinking, "How am I going to save money at Costco by paying double for my membership?"
- Don't linger in the front of the store. Costco tends to put new and discounted items on display so customers can check out that selection when they first walk into the store.
