Aug 4, 2021 · Lake Suwa, located in the center of Nagano Prefecture, is the largest lake in Shinshu with a circumference of about 16 km. The lakeside is rich in nature and is well maintained, so you can enjoy strolling or jogging while looking at the beautiful nature.
Lake Suwa is a 10 mins walk from the JR station. It is essentially an onsen town. We took a walk by the Lake and spotted the Lake Suwa-ko Geyser Center where you can enjoy the sight of a dynamic geyser and the "Nanatsu-gama," or the spot where seven hot springs gush. (check out the video).

Lake Suwa (諏訪湖, Suwa-ko) is a lake in the Kiso Mountains, in the central region of Nagano Prefecture, Japan. Geography. The lake is the source of the Tenryū River. Lake Suwa occupies the center of the Suwa region and there is plenty to do along its shores. A cycling and jogging path runs 16 kilometers around the lake, and bike rentals are available outside Suwa area stations and lakeside near Hotel Beniya.
