Pete's murder of Horace is a generational fraticide of man on man. It is masculinity murdering itself as men have done throughout all the ages. The story of Cain and Abel set in a bar. It is Pete's repressed anger over a generation that comes back to haunt him and drives him to murder Horace.
Louis CK plays Horace who runs a bar that's been in his family for generations and is torn between selling the bar to help his sister Sylvia battle cancer (Edie Falco) or keeping it so his mentally ill brother Horace can continue to live the only life he's ever known (Steve Buscemi).
I can't remember that I read a single negative critic review about it when it came out or heard anyone who as seen it say it's bad. It was mostly praised all around really. I also personally consider Horace and Pete to probably be Louis best work to date.
