Dec 16, 2016 · Enter Episode Five, aka “The One After Uncle Pete Dies.” Gif: HULU. To be specific, it’s the one after Uncle Pete kills himself, which makes the plot twist all the more perplexing.
Episode 5 opens with Uncle Pete’s wake and we learn very quickly that he committed suicide. Very few people are in attendance – only blood relatives and Marsha (Jessica Lange) – and none of them seem to know quite why Uncle Pete did it.
Dealing with the themes of abuse, mental illness, politics and family dynamics, the series focuses on Horace (played by C.K.), Pete (Buscemi), and Sylvia (Falco), the owners of Horace and Pete's, a run-down Brooklyn bar. [2] The first episode was released on C.K.'s website without any prior announcements on January 30, 2016. [3]
