Bigger than previous Civic, independent rear suspension means better ride and handling, 1.0 VTEC turbo petrol is excellent while i-DTEC diesel is very refined. Magic Seats no longer a feature, 1.0 VTEC doesn't work well with the CVT.

Jan 31, 2013 · This new 1.6-litre diesel model is the best Honda Civic you can buy right now. It makes the 2.2-litre i-DTEC all but superfluous thanks to its punchy power delivery and excellent fuel economy.
MPG: On paper, the most economical Civic will be the 1.6 diesel at 64.2mpg, according to the newer WLTP tests (although this drops quite a lot to 54.3mpg with the nine-speed auto).
