Homerton College is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge. [ 3 ] Its first premises were acquired in Homerton, London in 1768, by an informal gathering of Protestant dissenters with origins in the seventeenth century. In 1894, the college moved from Homerton High Street, Hackney, London, to Cambridge.

Living in the College is extremely popular and all undergraduates can be accommodated on site for at least 3 years of their studies. Most of our bedrooms have en suite bathrooms, and all have wifi.
Facilities at Homerton include: 1. a large, modern and well-stocked library 2. an excellent gym 3. an atmospheric College bar 4. a theatre 5. music rooms 6. a fitness studio We also have exceptional flood-lit astroturf sports facilities close to the College. Our students take full advantage of our facilities to work hard and enjoy themselves.
Homerton is on the south side of Cambridge, with an orchard, lawns, conservation area, and generous green spaces to walk in. Welcome to Homerton. We may be the youngest of all the Cambridge Colleges, but we have an exciting 250 year history – taking us from our original home in London to the Cambridge site you see today. We are proud to offer students all the University of Cambridge courses.
Over the last 125 years, Homerton worked ever more closely with Cambridge University before receiving its Royal Charter in 2010, as one of the university’s largest colleges. It now prepares students for all Tripos Subjects and its Fellows research across all Faculties of the university.
Feb 10, 2009 · Last Friday, 6 February, the University gave approval by Grace to Homerton College to seek a Royal Charter. It is hoped that by the end of the year, the University’s 800th anniversary, this process will be completed to make Homerton a full college of the University.

Mar 17, 2010 · Homerton College has officially become the University of Cambridge’s newest self-governing full College. On Friday 12th March Sir David Harrison, the Chairman of the Homerton Board of Trustees, formally handed the Royal Charter to the Principal and Fellows of the College.
