Before setting up connecting your subwoofer and AV or TV using a wireless subwoofer kit, it is good to try and maintain a clear line-of-sight between the transmitter and receiver. This ensures the best results in the transmission of audio. Devices that run on the 2.4 GHz band, such as cordless phones, microwaves, or Wi-Fi routers should not be kept...
Most devices in our homes use the 2.4Ghz band, which runs on a frequency of 450Mbps or 600 Mbps. Because most devices use 2.4 GHz, you will likely get interference from other devices running on the same band like microwaves, cordless phones, etc. It can also get crowded because of many users, which may affect speed. 5.8 GHz frequency is a relativel...
Latency or time delay in audio refers to the short period of delay taken when the audio signal is sent to the time you hear it from your speakers, subwoofers, monitors, etc. Latency is everywhere and cannot be avoided, but it can be limited.
All wireless devices are susceptible to RF interference from other devices like microwave ovens, video game consoles, cordless phones, baby monitors, Wi-Fi networking hardware, and other devices. - Split your speaker wire in two with a pocket knife. This kind of wire comes in two cables (red and black) that are conjoined by insulation, so separate them.
- Determine the length of wire you need. An antenna like this one will boost reception for all channels, but will be really good at receiving one channel.
- Make a simple frame for the wires out of scrap lumber, or whatever other material you can make work. How you assemble this depends entirely on your needs: indoor or outdoor, roof or ground-based.
- Strip the insulation off the ends of the speaker wires with your pocket knife, then cut to the desired length. Run them along the support arm of the frame to form a loop, and splice them together at the ends of the support arm.
I have an Episode sub with a wireless kit, and it works great. Originally it was mounted inside a metal A/V rack, which messed with the signal and would cause pops/dropouts, but we moved the antenna closer to the outside of the rack and the issue was resolved.
