    Hildesheim (German: [ˈhɪldəsˌhaɪm] ⓘ; Low German: Hilmessen or Hilmssen; Latin: Hildesia) is a city in Lower Saxony, in north-central Germany with 101,693 inhabitants. It is in the district of Hildesheim , about 30 km (19 mi) southeast of Hanover on the banks of the Innerste River, a small tributary of the Leine River.

The small chapel inside the cloister is a nice spot which also containes the 1000 years old rose plant, which inspire a lot of naming of things in town.

This multi-storey edifice with a big slate-clad gable was the old city’s butchers’ guildhall, and is replete with decoration, on its carved corbels and in the panels above the windows.
    • Historic Market Place. You wouldn’t believe it now, but in the decades after the Second World War the Historic Market Place was surrounded by modern concrete buildings.
