Highways & Honky Tonks is the fourth album by Heather Myles, and the first with her new record company Rounder Records. There is a cover of the old Charley Pride song "Kiss an Angel Good Morning," and Merle Haggard drops in for a guest appearance on the duet "No One Is Gonna Love You Better."
Dec 18, 2013 · Pete Anderson, best known for his work with Dwight Yoakam, plays lead guitar. Rounder was a little more aggressive in its marketing than her previous labels, with a couple of the less hardcore honky tonk numbers released as singles, although neither received much airplay.
With "Highways and Honky Tonks," her first release under a joint venture between Rounder and Mercury, Myles produced an album that has both traditional and contemporary appeal. Myles grew up in Riverside, Cal. on a horse ranch.
