In this paper, I show how a theory’s overall virtue is shaped by its ideological parsimony -- parsimony with respect to the terminology employed in stating the theory. I distinguish between a theory’s truth and its fidelity ('joint-carvingness') and the corresponding epistemic and fidelic virtues.

High-fidelity experiments, I propose, are those that can provide strong evidence against the presence of virtue in test subjects, merely through the observation of a single behavior that is contrary to a virtue. Low-fidelity experiments do not provide disconfirming evidence in this way.
