Biography. Hendrik Handloegten was born in Celle in 1968 and grew up in Finland, Brazil, Switzerland and France. On his return to Germany he worked in a video store in Berlin and from 1989 to 1993 he conducted the legendary Arthouse cinema "Eiszeit".
Created, written, and directed by Tom Tykwer, Achim von Borries, and Hendrik Handloegten, it is loosely based on novels by Volker Kutscher. The series premiered on 13 October 2017 on Sky 1. The first release consisted of a continuous run of 16 episodes, with the first eight officially known as Season 1, and the second eight known as Season 2.
