Learning to Lie (‹See Tfd› German: Liegen lernen) is a German film released in 2003. It is based on the novel of Frank Goosen from the year 2000. Plot. Beginning in West Germany in 1982, 18-year-old school boy Helmut falls in love with fellow pupil Britta. He starts working for a Peace movement to get to know Britta.
They soon find a splendid new home in a gated community. It has everything: a beautiful house, a secure environment and, above all, charming neighbors who welcome them with open arms. The family seems to have landed in paradise.

Hendrik Handloegten was born in Celle in 1968 and grew up in Finland, Brazil, Switzerland and France. On his return to Germany he worked in a video store in Berlin and from 1989 to 1993 he conducted the legendary Arthouse cinema "Eiszeit".
